The Columbus Police Department's Police Athletic Activities League (PAAL) believes that children, if reached early enough, can develop strong, positive attitudes towards police officers in their journey through life. The PAAL program brings youngsters under the supervision and constructive influence of a responsible law enforcement agency, while providing positive reinforcement of responsible values and attitudes.
Juvenile crime is a national problem that can be more effectively addressed on the local level. Youth sports programs have contributed significantly to the reduction of delinquency in our communities. While involved with PAAL, messages about drugs, alcohol, making good choices and responsibility are discussed with youngsters.
